| "The bond that links your true family is not one
of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life." -Richard Bach
Like most
of us, I agreed to try ATS upon the encouragement of a friend—and in my
case, a co-worker too—Quinn. When she said, "Try it. You'll like it. I
promise!" she wasn't kidding. From my first tribal bellydance class nearly
9 years ago, to my fledgling Summerfest performance in 2000, Gypsy Fire
has transformed into an amazing community of women, friends, and dancers.
TO MY SISTERS,
You have helped
me to become the dancer I am today. Through each of you I have known
grace, beauty, passion, humor and strength. You inspire my creativity and
challenge me to become a better performer and artist. Thank you for
seven years of never-ending support through highs and lows, shimmies, spins
and zaghareets. You gals rock!
Curiosity about bellydance is what first brought us
together, but it is the passion for dancing together as a troupe that made
us a family.
